Some great tips to overcome the writer’s block !!
by Vincent Mars
For us writers, few things are more frustrating than to finally sit down at our desks after taking care of real life chores only to be struck dumb by the blank page or the white screen. Writer’s block can be quite disabling, a form of writerly constipation that the harder we try to overcome, the more it aggravates. It pleases me to say that I have not suffered from this writer’s malady for a long time, which I believe is largely due to the conscious defenses against it I have taken. If you have the time, I would like to share these with you.

This is a reposting of my response to the original blog post:
As a self-published author I know depressing it can be to come down with a dreaded case of Writer’s Block, for I suffered from it numerous times as I wrote my debut novel, a MG/YA Paranormal romance.
However, I found a solution which got the creative juices following inside those little grey cells of my mind, time and time again. The solution was for me to write a 5 sentence Flash Fiction based on a prompt given by the website’s host [this site is unfortunately not running any longer.] And to make the task even more challenging, occasionally I use the prompt word to form an acrostic where the first letter and each subsequent letter[s] of it would form the beginning of each of the 5 sentences I had to write.
To better understand what I am saying I invited you to check out the preview pages of my second book, “Micro Fiction – An Anthology” which had been compiled from the Flash Fictions I had already written, plus new ones, some longer than 5 sentences, with the longest one being only about 390 words long.

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR ANYONE TO BUY A COPY OF THE BOOK, THIS IS MERELY BEING USED AS THE ILLUSTRATION FOR THE ABOVE
