The prompt given by dVerse is to write a quadrille using the word “echo/ echoes/ echoing”. I wanted more fun so decided to combine two forms of poetry to write an acrostic quadrille.
An acrostic poem is a type of poetry where the first, last or other letters in a line spell out a particular word or phrase. The most common and simple form of an acrostic poem is where the first letters of each line spell out the word or phrase. In the poem below, the first letter of each line joins to spell “echoes”.
A quadrille is a poem of exactly 44 words.
Every word that flowered from your lips
Crafted an indelible imprint on my heart
How unequivocally you pronounced our destiny that day
Oblivious of my adoration, smothering the echoes of my heart
Echoes of your words still resonate all the time
Silencing my heart
This is a great acrostic! 🙂 I love the idea of words flowering from lips…

Words can silence a heart. One needs to take care that they don’t resonate in a harmful way. Nice description of how the heart echoes compete with the word echoes.

You are right Frank. Words can act like a sword or like a bandage. That’s the power of words! Thanks for your appreciative words.

So sad when our adoration is not noticed or reciprocated but love your beautifully sensitive acrostic…so enjoyed it.
