De Jackson of WhimsyGizmo who is a Las Vegan, hosted Quadrille on Monday at dVerse, when we write a poem of exactly 44 words, including a given word. (I know I’m a little late for submission!) In light of the recent killings in Las Vegas, De rightly believes that in addition to prayers and healing, his city is in need of a little hope. So, he’s prompted us to write a quadrille on “hope”. Here’s my take on it.

when courage drowns in fear

and wisdom flees dreading sneer

when love gets brutally burnt

and pride fails to discern

even then my dear

let hope beat in your heart

let hope sway your mind

let hope lead your steps

let hope reign world !
