Some days I look back; I reflect

Ascertaining the relevance of certain moments,

Moments that felt trivial then, but are invaluable now

Moments that felt precious then, but appear hollow and trifling now

Some days I look back; I reflect

I wonder at the way relationships have transformed

Relations that drove my world yesterday, how they’ve faded with the dust of time

Relations that I never cared for then, how can they now be my lifeline

Some days I look back; I reflect

I am appalled at the wonders of love

Love that was my sunshine and my smile those days, why is it the reason of my tears today,

Love that was inexistent then, is now bringing me back to my life

Some days I look back; I reflect

Trying to dig into the meaning of life, the purpose of my being,

Purpose that was visibly unambiguous and promising then, then why I feel astray now

Purpose for which I’d argued with friends, then why does it appear so vague and worthless now

Some days I look back; I reflect

How life challenges us through pain and fears

How have I changed over all these years

I certainly stride with an extensive repertoire!

Some days I look back; I reflect

Some days I would still look back; I would still reflect
