  A Letter to My Love

Dear love

It’s been a long time

truly a long time that

we shared our hearts

thoughts of your love

loiter in my mind

my mind that had struggled

to snatch all memories

memories of our relationship

memories of our intimacy

memories of our days

away from my heart

away from my life

that day two decades ago

every day for two decades

Your fond memories quietly sneak in

through the porch everyday but

they are placid

they are innocuous

they just find a quiet place

somewhere in my heart to

watch me live on

every day for two decades

You know my dear

your memoirs are my true friends

I can reach out in need

eagerly awaiting

when I need to share

alluring me to past

when present becomes a load

musing with me of a world

that was stripped two decades ago

every day for two decades

O my dear love!

Today I want to gift your way

my reminiscences

for I want my memories

to brace you

to instigate you

to bolster you

as your memories exist for me

as I craved to live for you

two decades ago

every day for two decades
